More often than not there is a constant battle between your boyfriend and your best friends (besties). Your besties are like your sister’s the people that have been there for you whether you have a boyfriend, money, a car or any of those possessions that seem to validate some people’s lives. They are just like family, you fight with them, borrow their clothes and return them at the end of the semester or not at all but whatever your situation is your best friends are the ones that have your best interest in mind. On the other hand you have your boyfriend, your companion, the person who you can be vulnerable and intimate with. He’s that extra special person that you’ve been looking for all your dating life and you feel as if you can finally breathe…wrong! Of course not life isn’t that easy there’s always room for imperfection and conflict. It seems that if you’re not arguing with your boyfriend over all the girl friends he has, not spending enough time with you or the “he-said-she-said” drama, your arguing over the fact that you spend too much time with your besties or the fact that he may not like one of them. What is a girl to do??? Your girls have a motto: Guys may come and go but like jewelry, Besties are forever! Most females operate on this system because of the close ties that they have with their besties and the fact that they are there before the boyfriend drama and post boyfriend. The issue is that guys just don’t understand. As the woman it is our intrinsic duty to make sure we devote time and dedication to our relationships.
***Here are some suggestions to coping with these issues...
*Try hosting get togethers, potlucks or small outings so that everyone can get to no one another without letting prejudgments get in the way.
*Try having an intervention with your besties and your boyfriend present so that you can work through these issues.
*Try to set up some type of schedule so that your with your besties on certain days and your with your boyfriend on other days (I know you may feel like a divorced child but, you may have to use this method)
