My recent pet peeve are those relationships that are just too controlling and as a passerby you can tell right away that there is a dominant person in the relationship laying down all of the rules. Some of these rules include not talking to the opposite sex, limitations against spending time with friends or calling your partner at a certain time every day. Sometimes these rules go as far as telling your partner what they can and cannot wear. Is it me or is this just ridiculous? My problem with this is when you have a close friend regardless if it’s a guy or girl and soon as they get into a relationship they become such shady characters. Now all of a sudden they act like they don’t know who you are. If they do acknowledge your presence it seems fake, it’s almost as if they talk to you in order to not let the friendship die. I can feel the fakeness with every hug and the small conversations we would have while passing by each other. But that’s simply it! Life is moving at such a rapid pace that we are passing by each other and soon these friendships fade by the fall of the last autumn leaves or perhaps the first snow.
***If you find yourself in a controlled relationship make sure you do everything in your power to change your situation or end the relationship. In the long run it not only hurts you but those who care about you. It’s better to solve the problems now before you look around and find that no one is there.
